“Several studies have confirmed a sort of “feedback failure” with respect to muscle contraction and hand-eye coordination in CFS/ME/FM.   PWCs believe that they have a good grip on objects, but drop them anyway;  they reach for an object but misjudge and knock it over; or they struggle to put one foot in front of another. These all seem related to feedback mechanisms between muscles and the brain.  The brain perceives that muscles are fully contracted when they are not. The reason for this is not fully appreciated yet, but under investigation.”
